In 1970 this commemorative sculpture was commissioned by Her Majesty was to be for the 2500 year celebration of the Persian Empire.

Copies of this commemorative sculpture were cast in silver by world renowned jewelers, Buccellati and were to be given to every visiting head of state.

Working on the clay portrait bust of the Shah of Iran

The sittings for this portrait bust took place in Palm Beach, FL. The following year, 1983, I was commissioned to go to Caracas to do portrait busts of all of Mr. Vollmer's children and his wife, Christine Vollmer.

His private jet picked me up with all my sculpting materials for the flight to Caracas. I was the only passenger on that luxurious jet. I stayed two weeks in Caracas to complete the clays of all seven pieces. Those clay busts were delivered by private jet to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey. From there I took them to the foundry for casting.

The sittings of Keith Emerson's sculpture took place in the Bahamas. Mr. Emerson is a world renowned musician and composer. 

He later commissioned me to do busts of his two sons.

Sitting with Hank Aaron

When my son Richard was a bat boy for the Atlanta Braves' spring training in West Palm Beach, FL, he introduced me to Mr. Aaron.

Mr. Aaron had read about my commission for the busts of the Iranian royal family, and decided to commission me to do a bronze sculpture of himself. The sittings took place at our home in North Palm Beach.

Having Hank Aaron come to our house was the biggest thrill for Richard.
